What are people saying?

“Reading this book is like sitting down with a good friend over a cup of coffee, and talking about things that matter. Deborah Roof has opened her wise pastoral heart to us in this engaging work, inviting us to reimagine our lives, and the church, as wondrous expressions of divine love—where God is still and always speaking!”

Rev. Anna Carter Florence, PhD, (PCUSA); Author, Biblical Scholar, Peter Marshall Professor of Preaching, Columbia Theological Seminary

“With humor and heart-filled honesty, Roof takes you on a journey of discovery back to yourself and your divinely inspired story. The words of this beautiful book will instill wonder in your soul, ignite your spirit, and bring love to the center of your life.”

Rev. Karoline M. Lewis, PhD, (ELCA);

Author, Biblical Scholar, Professor of Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary; Program Director, Festival of Homiletics

Bio

The Rev. Dr. Deborah Roof is a UCC Pastor and Teacher. She is the mother of two dynamic daughters and she is married to her soul-mate, Liz.

Deborah is a “churchie girl”. She has gone to church as long as she can remember. Her first love was France and the French language. She holds a Masters Degree in French Literature and taught French and Spanish for 20 years.

In her late forties, Deborah decided to “work for God” and became a UCC minister - not because they were nearly the only denomination to ordain openly gay folks. It was the openness and the ethos of “agree to disagree” that compelled her. She loves that she doesn’t need to be “right” or to have the “right answer” to be a beloved disciple of Love.

20 years later “Words, Wonder, and the Divine in You” saw light.
